Debt Collection Service
1.	Definitions
	1.1	"The Solicitors" shall mean Richard Steer and Company of 72 High Street, Teddington, Middlesex, TW11 8JD.
	1.2	"The Guild" shall mean The Guild of Builders and Contractors.
	1.3	"The Member" shall mean the member of The Guild requesting the debt collecting service.
	1.4	"The Debt Collection Service" shall mean the service provided by the Solicitor to the Member and shall comprise:
	a.	Two letters before action from the Solicitor to the Member's debtor.
	b.	A report from the Solicitors to the Member on the result of the letters.
	c.	Outlined advice on future action.
	1.5	"The Fee" shall mean such fee as the Solicitor and The Guild shall agree from time to time for the Debt Collection Service.
2.	Solicitor/Client relationship
	2.1	The Member shall be the Client of the Solicitor
3.	Member Responsibility The Member:
	3.1	Shall properly and fully complete the debt collection registration form provided by The Guild.
	3.2	The Member shall forward to the Solicitor the said registration form and the fee.
4.	The Solicitor's Duty The Solicitor shall:
	4.1	Within seven days of receipt of the Member's registration form send a letter to the debtor requiring settlement of the debt within seven days of that letter.
	4.2	If no (or no satisfactory) response is received within seven days shall send a second letter to the debtor warning of impending proceedings.
	4.3	Within twenty eight days of receipt of the Member's Registration report to the Member on the situation at that stage and advise on future action.
5.	The Solicitor shall not be obliged
	5.1	To answer telephone queries relating to any particular matter or the debt collection service generally.
	5.2	Communicate with either the Member or the debtor other than in accordance with the terms of the debt collection scheme as set out above.
6.	The Guild's Responsibilities
	6.1	The Guild has arranged the debt collection service as a service to Members but does not itself give advice on debt collection nor shall it be responsible for any action, default or negligence of the Solicitor or any dissatisfaction of the Member with the Solicitor.
7.	General
	7.1	The Member warrants that the information provided on the registration form is true, complete and accurate.
	7.2	Neither the Solicitor nor the Guild accepts any responsibility for anything incomplete, false or inaccurate in the registration form.
	7.3	The Solicitor may reject without comment or explanation any registration form which is not properly completed.
	7.4	The Solicitor shall account to the Member for any monies received within ten working days of receipt of such monies.
	7.5	These terms and conditions or part thereof may be varied at any time without notice.
